Otto's Thrill is where it all began for me—my love for flowers and dahlias, specifically my dahlia addiction. I remember as a child this dahlia being grown in my parents' yard, which was a tuber given to my mom from my grandpa. It was always my favorite flower in the yard! When I began getting into gardening, my mom gave me a tuber clump from Otto's Thrill. The genetics of this dahlia are quite old and it is now classified as an heirloom, having been introduced in 1956. It has won many awards over the years. With its amazing standout large fluffy rose pink blooms, it's no wonder it has been around for so many years. It's always a favorite in the dahlia patch and a favorite among florists. Although a pie plate, the side shoots are smaller and easier to arrange with.
